Hello all, these days I've met an OSP board testability issue. 1.OSP board 2.Solder paste:Kester R244 no clean paste 3.Print solder paste on test pad. Issue: There's brone(light yellow)flux residue on test pad,and the probe can't penetrate the residu

I have been getting non wets on fine pitch QFP packages on random leads during reflow process. I noticed that every time there is some flux residue left between the non-wet lead and the solder pad. No residue was not observed on the rest of the good

Hi, Has any body experienced the problem of poor cotacts on HDMI connectors. The connectors pins are gold plated and we see some kind of white residue on the gold pins. How to check if this is a flux residue? We are using No Clean flux in wave solderin

Why are you planning to clean low residue flux? There are cleanable low residue fluxes, but why would you wan to clean it?

You need to remove the oxide before you can properly solder your [or any] component. Call your flux supplier ask them for a more active flux than you are using and for their recommendations on removing the flux residues.

We always talk about the halide free fluxes and solder pastes. Is there anyone tell me what is the industrial acceptable level of halide content or contamination in flux residue? All comment are welcome !!! Kelvin

Kevin: What was the thinking behind your using a flux that required cleaning on a post wash assemble for a power switch? How do you keep the remaining corrosive flux residues from causing trouble [ie, corrosion, CAF, etc]?

Paste is eutectic and it's copper based parts. Just another observation, i notice that the "flux" between the bottom foot and solidified paste is still in gluey state. Observation on good reflowed leads showed brittle type of flux residue. Can anyone

Folks, we've recently upgraded to Heller MKIII reflow ovens with Gen 9 cooling units. We're running N2 atmosphere at 1000ppm O2 and Kester256 solder paste. We're seeing a big problem with flux residues building up in the cooling section of the

I use BioAct SC-10 and it seems to work pretty well. The best bet is to contact your solder paste manufacturer and ask them for a recommended cleaning solvent for the flux residues... Regards, Justin
