Thank you everyone, I realise the problems now and the whole exercise might not be worth the money saved, versus just throwing out the leftover paste. I am based in Australia, so the number of players in this market is small and they know it. The pr

(or just some static-safe foam tape) I need to seal a wire terminal block to a board for conformal coating purposes. Currently we glue it to a shim and glue the shim to the board (yuck), but I want to use die cut gaskets if I can make it cost effec

This touches on one of my pet peeves. Management types demand something, that is not feasible or practicle. So the manufacturers put something together to pass off as what was asked for. In this case a way to put hard numbers on what a machine can

There is a lot of debate over efficiency rates in our group, what percent would indicate that we have a good efficiency rate in our SMT production lines? Ours vary from 40- 60% We are constantly trying to improve this numbers, but I am curious as wer

ECD's OvenRIDER is the only instrument I know that can measure thermal transfer efficiency of a an oven. I suppose it would work for environmental chambers too. This instrument has thermocouples to measure ambient temp of oven zones and well as hi-ma

If you are using VOC free flux, then forced convection preheats are better at evaporating the water. That may be why you're getting the "splatter". Plus, forced convection preheaters are most efficient at thermal transfer. See if you can get one to p

It'll just transfer the load to your compressor, and who knows how efficient your venturi pump (which can also be noisy) will be (IOW, how much load it puts on your compressor is anyone's guess)? I'd just replace or rebuild the vacuum pump, person

Say I have more than 10 customers all Box Build products, what is the effective and efficient component part numberings system for my company : Make Own Part Numbers? Adopt Customer Part Numbers? Own Part Number and Customer PN Mixed or Combined?

Russ is correct, The efficiency number, or machine operating ratio, is more relevant in a HVLM environment than a HMLV senario. I have found that in HVLM, a desirable number would be cetianly 80% plus. Low 90 is not unrealistic. One must consider
