Hi All Respected Engineers, Now a days am testing a high speed 20 layer PCB but currently the issue am facing that most of signals give KOhm or Mohm resistance with respect to GROUND as it should be infinity. We have around 7 GND planes in our PCB s

1) We could press on BGAs and the boards would boot 2) This is basic boot up yield 3) We are now getting stpe by step inspection data going fwd. 4) So, Stencil design could be a critical factor. Any documented guidelines? 5) Yes DFX was done - mostl

Most bowing I see is caused by an asymetrical layer stackup of the PCB. (different copper thicknesses throughout the stackup) e.g. for a 4 layer board - 2 oz. copper on layer 1, 1 oz. copper on layer 4, etc... I would doubt that is the V-score since

You can specify the prepreg thickness in the stackup. Once you have specified it somewhere, make your PCB manufacturer build to it... and prove it through cross-section analysis. Depending on the Board cost, we require a cross-section and analysis d

I have a problem with placement repeatability and accuracy on this Samtec connector. The customer wants to use a "nubbed connector" which has to be placed in the corresponding PCB holes. When the nubs miss the holes, the part becomes "lifted." SEE

Chunks... You are pretty damn awesome! Anyways, in regards to the original thread, we do get good boards from china as well, but we have had issues with stack-up tolerances and even mouse bite (drilled break away) tabs. Not to long ago, we left t

on the front end in design, minimize the pth connections to ground planes. this takes alot of work by the pcb designer and the approval of the design engineer. connect maximum of 4 ground planes to pth, minimum 1 plane. use spoked connections. ev

Do you design or define PCB layouts? If so circuit board, what rules and checks do you have in place to make sure your results are... optimal? Over the years, I've created a PCB design checklist to keep me out of trouble. I share these nuggets with m
