How passive components work

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 15 07:38:33 EST 2016 | emeto

Passive components are the one's that don't gain power on the output. The one's that do are called active components. Diodes, resistors, caps and inductors are examples of passive. Transistor is active component.

How passive components work

As their name suggests, Passive components are electrical components that do not require any ... circuits that require to be powered in some way to make them work..

Passive component shear Testing

Can anybody provide information on shear testing of passive components. What standards are used etc. Thanks

SMT component life spend.

Hi, If your worried about them being lead free components, because it's "not clear" then you should be able to ask the manufacture of them if they are lead free, as they normally trace the batch code, and manif date and will know for sure. Most pas

About temperature sensitive component

Electronics Forum | Fri Sep 24 11:08:13 EDT 2004 | davef

We're not sure what you mean by temperature sensitive components. From an assembly process stand-point, every component we use is temperature sensitive to one level or another. More specifically, some of our products use polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)

SMT component mis-aligned

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 21 16:06:10 EST 2005 | MR

I agree w/ JB; the package height definition is crucial. I have had problems w/ this in the past, and found that a resistor height was being used as a universal passive height for the capacitor in question. Properly defining the height fixed the pro

Scott: Sounds like fun: Solder joint strength in pull/shear varies with lead geometry, solder volume, lead metal/metallization, and the test method. Among things, IPC-TM-650 talks to getting pads off-of boards. For instance: Method 2.4.8 is for

Need help designing an SMT component
