What is the actual function of the shortwave IR in the wave machine process? Is it just another heat source?. i know it can apply a lot of heat in quick cycles and has ‘penetrating heat’ but is that it? seems a bit too simple.

Pre-heat, pre-heat, pre-heat! Swap out your acetylene with some propane. Problem solved. Throw a potato in your solder pot while your at it...

We have 4 bad heating elements for our wave soldering machine and we need to replace them ASAP. Can someone tell me where I could find these heating elements for the Folungwin MD-450N wave soldering machine

In general, no. If you've got the right BGA rework equipment, you should be able to locally heat the part area that you're reworking. Though, if you're finding defects related to thermal stress, it might not be a bad idea to pre-heat the rest of th

Heat shrink is heat activated so anything with heat is a non-starter. Pretty much anything that can cut paper can cut heatshrink

The padsfor large heat sinks are being designed on our boards with large copper ground planes surrounding them by our engineers. I am having great difficulty keeping the reflow temperature below 230 degrees in order for the temperature of the copper

Hello All, Using IR will mean that there is no minimum distance to the adjacent components as there is not hot air flow. If components are heat sensitive around the BGA you can also tape them off with a reflective tape. The IR heat will bounce strai

That was the case with your oven but it is not so with ours. First, the distance from walls of the inner chamber to the product differs from one oven to another. Second, the dissipation of heat from metal heats up the air in the oven which in turn h

No. It was CK who brought up AC at his home and erroneously said that having your AC on a lower setting used less power than having it turned off when you are not there. I'm saying with AC at home turn it off when you are not there and have it come

| Mornin! | | We just had vendor in here pitching a "low-temperature rework system" which was intriguing, but too expensive. He did get me to thinking though, beyond heating ceramic caps before hand-soldering them, it seems like it would be ad
