IPC-A-610 - Acceptability of Electronics AssembliesCOURSE CALENDARCOURSE DESCRIPTION The education and training goal of this program is to improve individual “discrimination” skills; that is, to improve accuracy of discrimination between “acceptable” or “unacceptable” completed electronic assemblies per the IPC-A-610 series. This program will also teach individuals the reasons for the accept/reject criteria to enhance their motivation and ability to apply the discrimination criteria consistently and correctly. Upon satisfactory completion of this course, students will be able to make correct “accept/reject” decisions for finished electronic assemblies based on the acceptability requirements of IPC-A-610. COURSE STRUCTURE CIS students can attend all or some of the following modules, CIT and CSE will attend all: Module 1 – (mandatory for CIS)= 4.5 hours Introduction/IPC Policies & Procedures; Foreword, Applicable Documents, & Handling (chapters 1,2,B) Module 2 – (optional for CIS)= 2 hours Soldering (Including High Voltage chapters 5 & 12) Module 3 – (optional for CIS)= 3.5 hours Component Damage and Printed Circuit Boards and Assemblies (chapters 9 & 10) Module 4 – (optional for CIS)= 4 hours (allow 2 hours for module 2) Terminal Connections (chapter 6) (Requires Module 2 prior to taking this module) Module 5 – (optional for CIS)= 4.5 hours (allow 5.5 hours more for Modules 2 & 3) Through Hole Technology (chapters 7 & 13) (Requires Modules 2 & 3 prior to taking this module) Module 6 – (optional for CIS)= 4.5 hours (allow 5.5 hours more for Modules 2 & 3) Surface Mount Assemblies (chapters 8 & 13) (Requires Modules 2 & 3 prior to taking this module) Module 7 – (optional for CIS)= 1.5 hours CERTIFIED STANDARDS EXPERT (CSE) CERTIFICATION DETAILSWHAT A CSE RECEIVES
Certification Requirements: Pass open and closed book timed written exams at 80% or better |
