Inovar's Rick Gour Holds Successful TRIZ Presentation

The presentation was held on Thursday, June 10, 2010 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Autoliv’s Technical Center in Ogden, Utah.

The presentation provided an overview of the basics of TRIZ and how it can be used in business and personal situations to arrive at “inventive solutions.” Real-world examples and the results from one company’s efforts and experiences in implementing this tool were presented, followed by a question and answer session.

Rick Gour graduated Cum Laude from Weber State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Rick began his career as an industrial engineer with Morton Thiokol and continued his aerospace experience with Hughes Aircraft Company as a manufacturing engineer and program manager.

Gour has held positions of increasing responsibility, working on a variety of projects in the aerospace and automotive industries. Rick is a Six Sigma Black Belt, a Pretium Certified TRIZ Master Black Belt and a SAVE International certified Associate Value Specialist.

TRIZ is a problem solving methodology based on logic, data and research. It draws on the past knowledge and ingenuity of many thousands of engineers to accelerate the project team’s ability to solve problems creatively.
