Acculogic and Electro Tech Sales to Hold Testing Seminar

Jan 22, 2010

WOBURN, MA ? January 2010 ? Acculogic’s Manufacturing Test Systems Division, a global leader in electronics test and production solutions, announces that Bob Steel, North American Sales Manager, and Greg Leblonc, Application and Flying Probe Product Manager, will hold a seminar on advances in limited access testing. The seminar is scheduled to take place Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in Monroeville, PA. The seminar is sponsored by Acculogic and Electro Tech Sales and is free to attendees.

New component package types and shrinking PCB sizes continue to challenge test engineers. Today’s high-mix, small-run production environment means that test development times are always tight and budgets are limited. Insert the need for better quality and higher levels of test coverage, and a test engineer’s life is far from easy. This seminar presents recent advances in testing methodology including design for test, new boundary scan tools, and flying probe testers that address the demands outlined above.

The seminar is geared toward test engineers who are challenged with testing boards with little or no access, the need for faster test development cycles and better test coverage. Additionally, it is ideal for those who work with an OEM or in a contract manufacturing environment, or who do production line tests.

Bob Steel has been with Acculogic for four years and before then he worked at Landrex in the AOI systems market. Previous to that he spent approximately 20 years at Teradyne and GenRad where he was involved in ICT, functional test, AOI and X-ray inspection. This broad level of experience in production test and inspection allows Bob to provide valuable counseling to customers about how to improve existing manufacturing processes.

Greg Leblonc, PE and member of IEEE, has been with Acculogic for more than 12 years and serves as Application and Flying Probe Product Manager. Greg was involved with Acculogic’s first flying probe system, the Sprint, and has been instrumental in it hardware and software improvements over the years. Greg also is in charge of engineering enhancements for the new Scorpion Flying Probe System. As Application Manager, Greg has many years of experience and has become an expert in providing test solutions for complex PCBs.

Acculogic is a Canadian-based company that specializes in Limited Access Test Solutions, including Flying Probe Systems, Boundary Scan and Functional Test. The company also provides Test Programs for Teradyne and Agilent platforms.

Customers may contact Acculogic sales or visit http://www.acculogic.com for further information, or email Greg@ElectroTechSales.com to register for the seminar.
