Universal Instruments Hosts 2009 Supplier Day

Nov 25, 2009

Universal Instruments strengthened relationships with its supplier base by hosting an informal but informative Supplier Day at its Conklin, NY, USA headquarters. The singleday event provided an opportunity to update suppliers on Universal’s current position, as well as the company’s quality and reliability results and roadmap. It also served as an opportunity to review supplier expectations, performance, and initiatives.

Over 30 people from 13 suppliers attended the event. The morning commenced with a company overview presentation by Universal CEO, Jean-Luc Pelissier. “This event positively impacts the relationships we have with our suppliers by helping to clearly define our expectations of one another,” commented Pelissier. “It also helps provide valuable insight into future requirements and establishes guidelines by which to meet them.” The opening presentation was followed by a quality and reliability overview that included results and a roadmap defining future goals.

The afternoon session began with a focus on supplier quality. Discussion points included the supplier score card, change process, and 2010 DPM targets. Supply chain initiatives were the next topic, specifically examining supply, delivery performance, and cost reduction. The event concluded with a forward plan presentation that summarized the day’s objectives.
