Libra Industries, a privately held electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider, today announced that it had the privilege to sponsor a child for Christmas through ‘A Special Wish Foundation’. Mya Markley recently won her year-and-a-half battle cancer and the fight leaves her parents struggling to make ends meet. Thanks to A Special Wish Foundation, with the help of companies like Libra Industries, Mya will have a magical Christmas.
Mya was diagnosed at 18 months with stage 3 Neuroblastoma. She had a 9 by 9 tumor on top of her left kidney and tangled around her aorta. She underwent six rounds of chemotherapy, two tandem bone marrow transplants, tumor resection surgery, four Broviac Central Lines, 14 days of radiation and six rounds of immune therapy. Mya's last scans showed she had no evidence of disease. She goes for her three month scans in January.
“We are honored to sponsor Mya for Christmas through A Special Wish,” commented Jennifer Kiminas, Libra Industries’ Marketing & Communications Manager. “It has been such a heartwarming experience that Libra Industries has decided to sponsor one child each year going forward.”
