At this year's NEPCON Shanghai trade show, the ASM team was honored with an impressive four prizes for its innovative products when the SIPLACE TX and the DEK NeoHorizon iX each won the EM Asia Innovation Award and the SMT China Vision Award.
This was the eighth time in a row that the respective institutions' independent panels honored innovations from technology leader ASM for their speed, efficiency and accuracy. Jeff Jian, ASM Senior Manger Taiwanese Accounts, and James Jiang, Senior Manager Service Greater China, proudly accepted the four awards. "These awards prove once again that our best-in-class SIPLACE and DEK equipment sets global standards and makes the smart SMT factory tangible," said Jeff Jian.
According to the panels of judges appointed by trade publications Electronics Manufacturing and SMT China, the SIPLACE TX won in the high-volume placement category because of its speed and accuracy, which can deliver huge productivity gains to electronics manufacturers. The judges were equally impressed by the small size of the SIPLACE TX. With dimensions of only 1 meter by 2.3 meters, it is considered the world champion in floorspace performance.
The two awards for the DEK NeoHorizon iX were based on the modular screen printer's flexible configurability and process stability. According to the judges, the new machine will help electronics manufacturers customize their printing processes while meeting the highest quality requirements.
Established in 2006, the EM Asia Innovation Awards program strives to recognize and celebrate excellence in the Asian electronics industry, inspire companies to achieve the highest standards, and push the industry forward. An independent panel of industry experts judges entrants on the criteria of innovation, achievement and setting challenging objectives. The panel includes representatives from businesses, trade associations and academia.
The SMT China Vision Award, which is presented by independent industry experts as well as readers of SMT China, looks at the following criteria: creative use of new and existing technologies, overall quality, performance reliability, economic value, innovativeness, cost efficiency, speed and performance improvement, user-friendliness, ease of maintenance, and environmental compatibility.
