Juki Automation Systems, a world-leading provider of automated assembly products and systems and part of Juki Corporation, announces that QualTech Technologies, Inc., a high-reliability EMS company located in the Cleveland area, has invested and successfully installed a KE-1070/KE-1080 Modular Placement System to accompany its existing four Juki placement machines. The new equipment provides QualTech with added capacity as well as the ability to place microBGAs and ultra-small components down to 01005.

We are very excited to add another highly valued Juki assembly line to our plant. Juki’s commitment to both quality and service is unparalleled. There is no comparison when you look at total cost of ownership,” commented David Vance, President of QualTech Technologies, Inc.

Horizon Sales recently sponsored a luncheon for more than 40 employees at Willoughby, Ohio-based QualTech Technologies. The luncheon was held to thank the team for their continued support and use of Juki equipment.

Dave Trail, President of Horizon Sales, commented, “We are delighted to see QualTech continue to add capacity and capability to their expanding business. We have had a more than 10-year relationship and have enjoyed watching them grow and prosper, and are confident they will continue to do so.”

The KE-1070/KE-1080 machines are intended to meet the need for reliable, cost-efficient placement solutions for the midrange market. The KE-1070 and KE-1080 are built using the same topology as the popular KE-2070/KE-2080 machines that have had tremendous success in the marketplace.

The KE-1070 has a four-nozzle head with a rated IPC9850 speed of 15,500 CPH and a component placement range from 01005 (0402 metric) to 33.5 mm2. The KE-1080 adds a fifth nozzle to handle larger parts and uses a tri-colored advanced vision system featuring blue, green and red LEDs for accurate placement of fine-pitch ICs, connectors and odd-shaped components. Additionally, the KE-1080 has an IPC9850 rated speed of 14,100 CPH for chips, and 3,400 CPH for IC components when using the advanced lighting system. The effective component placement range for the KE-1080 is 01005 (0402 metric) to 74 mm2 or 50 x 150 mm.

QualTech Technologies, Inc. is a contract supplier of electronics circuit boards and wired assemblies. The company offers complete solutions for the electronics industry, including box builds and circuit design. For more information about QualTech Technologies, visit www.qualtechinc.com.
