Cambridge GaN Devices develop and manufacture Gallium Nitride devices for a wide range of applications, rnaging from low power chargers/adapters up to high power converters for servers, automotive and many other applications. First products are now in volume production.
Using GaN to best advantage can be tricky - but rewarding in final product performance and competitiveness.
E.g. high efficiency depends on very fast switching, and high rates of di/dt can cause issues with gate drive with even small inductance in the source connection. The higher gate threshold of devices form Cambridge GaN devices mitigates this problem.
