BPM Microsystems will demonstrate its new in-system device programming solution in Hall 7, Stand 648 at the upcoming SMT Hybrid Packaging Exhibition, scheduled to take place May 8 - 10, 2012 at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg in Germany.
The new 2800ISP Parallel In-System Device Programmer offers the unmatched performance and flexibility of 8th Generation site technology. With a custom-designed test fixture, operators can easily program flash, microcontrollers and other device technologies on-board after reflow.
The semi-automated design of the 2800ISP uses a pneumatic fixture with built-in safety features to actuate the pressure plate. Once actuated, the circuit board makes contact with high quality pogo pins that are specifically engineered to achieve exceptional signal integrity. Ideal for medium and high-volume production, the 2800ISP is configurable and can program up to 16 devices in parallel.
The company will also showcase its automated and manual 8th Generation off-line device programmers. The model 2800 and 3800 support microcontrollers, NAND flash, NOR flash, serial flash, managed NAND flash, EEPROM, Flash EPROM, and other technologies with densities up to an 8 Eb theoretical limit. The programmers also support devices with voltage down to 0.7 (Vdd).
Ideal for mid to high-volume production, the model 3800 Universal Device Programmer can utilize eight to 16 socket cards and is compatible with Flashstream socket cards. Integrated into the 3800 is the LaserAlign™ sensor from CyberOptics®, which assures repeatable pick-and-place accuracy and high performance during the programming process. The programmer also offers flexible options for input and output media with choices of tray, tape or tube.
The model 2800 Universal Device Programmer uses BPM Microsystems’ cost-effective and efficient socket cards with receptacle-base socket option. Individual socket cards can be fully utilized and replaced without dramatically affecting programming capacity. With the receptacle-base socket option, customers can purchase only the consumable socket as needed. The design of BPM Microsystems’ socket cards increases manufacturing up-time, produces higher first-pass yield, and saves replacement costs by as much as 75 percent.
