We call it the Extended because it does just that it extends the flexibility of our popular all-in-one platform, says Brian Duffey, President of MYDATA North America. He notes that the new model can handle an even greater variety of components at high speed on an even greater variety of board sizes. Customers who have tested key innovations imbedded in the machine have achieved a jump in throughput and flexibility, as one stated.
Live demo to be held at Anaheim
Were very excited to present live demos of the new model at the Anaheim trade show, says Duffey, who adds that the MY-Series E is a complement to the companys current all-in-one platform. The new model will be made available in the companys MY9E and MY12E sizes as well as the larger MY15E and MY19E models.
Packed with a number of technical innovations, the MY-Series E model extends the flexibility of the MYDATA concept. Some of the key innovations include a new high-speed Hydra Extended Range (ER) mounthead, T3 internal conveyor, and the latest version of the companys TPSys 2.4+ operating software. The machine is also equipped with linear drive technology on the Y-module, enhancing several aspects of the previous design.
Faster mounting of large and small components
According to Duffey, the star of the show is the new high-speed HYDRA ER mounthead, which comes standard on all E machines. The new mounthead is equipped with an extended range of tools that enable customers to place components as small as 0201 and as large as 15 x 15 mm faster than ever.
Another key feature on the new E model is the Linescan camera, which works in tandem with the HYDRA, enabling it to accurately mount everything from 0201s to QFPs and BGAs at very high speeds. As an option, the machine can also be configured to handle connectors and other components that are up to 0.86 tall and 156 mm long. The idea is to provide our customers with a tool that will allow them to handle the industries growing number of odd-shaped components, Duffey adds.
New and improved board handling
One hallmark and much-appreciated benefit of the MY-Series machines has been the ability to handle virtually any board size. The MY-Series E model takes this a step further. It comes with a new T-series conveyor and state-of-the-art linear drive technology as standard. It uses top reference board clamping and handles a very large range of pcb thickness with no setup required. As a result, customers can handle everything from the thin boards to very thick boards the with dimensions up to 24 x 36 as an in-line configuration.
At 20, you still want to change the world
The launch of the new MY-Series Extended model coincides with the 20th Anniversary of MYDATA automation, the Sweden-based company with operations on four continents. It was only 20 years ago that a group of Swedish engineers answered the electronics industrys request for a more flexible way to mount electronic components. Today, the all-in-one solution they developed for high mix production is used by seven of the worlds 10 largest EMS providers and 25% of the worlds 100 largest contractors. The U.S. market currently accounts for more than 50% of MYDATAs total sales.
MYDATA automation designs, manufactures and markets SMT process equipment for the electronics industry. Its business mission is to be continually innovatingin order to satisfy the electronic industrys need for surface mount technology and services that meet the highest demand for productivity and quality.
Based on a modular hardware and software design, MYDATA equipment is developed for flexibility and high-yield production over time. By focusing on faster changeovers and setups, & on achieving the lowest possible cost per mounted component, MYDATA has built a strong customer base with long-term relationships in countries throughout the world.
Sweden-based MYDATA has a worldwide sales and customer support network with subsidiaries in the Netherlands, Great Britain, France, the United States, Japan, China and Singapore.
