Unimicron Reports 4Q, 2002 Results

Taiwan-based PCB manufacturer Unimicron Technology Corp. on February 13, 2003, announced its unaudited 4Q2002 and full-year results as follows:

For the fourth quarter of 2002, Unimicron Technology reported operating revenue of NT$3,445 million (NT$3,253 million in 3Q2002), gross profit ratio 15% (18%), operating income ratio 9% (10%), net income NT$309 million (NT$282 million), and net income ratio 9% (9%).

For 2002, operating revenue was reported as NT$12,273 million (NT$11,911 million in 2001), gross profit ratio 17% (21%), operating income ratio 9% (12%), net income NT$1,020 million (NT$1,228 million), net income ratio 8% (10%), and EPS of NT$1.44 (NT$1.76 in 2001).

Based on net sales, in the third quarter of 2002, Unimicron reported double-layer and four-layer boards as 15% of its net sales; six-layer and eight-layer 20%, above ten-layer, 11%, IC carrier 28%, HDI 25%, and others 1%. The percentages for 4Q2002 were reported as follows: double-layer and four-layer boards 11%, six-layer and eight-layer 23%, above ten-layer 9%, IC carrier 25%, HDI 31%, and others 1%.

By product, for 3Q2002, Unimicron sold boards for communication (40%), notebooks (16%), IC carrier (28%), PC-related (10%), and others (6%). For 4Q2002, those percentages were reported as communication (42%), notebook (16%), IC carrier (25%), PC-related (6%), and others (11%).
