IPC-Association Connecting Electronics Industries(r) has released the IPC Sample Master Ordering Agreement for EMS Companies and OEMs (IPC-EMSI-TC2), a document created to assist the industry when business relationships are formed between OEMs and EMS companies.
In response to industry's request for such a sample agreement, IPC, representatives from various OEMs and EMS companies, and lawyers from Squires, Sanders and Dempsey began development of the document shortly after the 2000 EMS Management Meeting in Tampa, Fla. The IPC-EMSI-TC2 provides sample terms and conditions necessary to resolve the intricate details and unique needs of the EMS contracting process. Specific contracting issues such as inventory liability, order modifications, and testing requirements and responsibilities are covered.
