New IPC Study Shows Modest Increase in Compensation for North American Electronics Industry Executives

Mar 13, 2013

IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries® announces the release of a new study, IPC Executive Compensation Study for the North American Electronics Industry 2011-2012. Reporting on data from 41 North American electronics manufacturing companies, the study provides the opportunity to compare a firm’s compensation levels and HR policies and practices to other companies in the industry.

The executive compensation study presents comprehensive data on executives’ base salaries, bonuses and other forms of compensation and benefits and covers 12 key executive positions. Within the report, results are reported by company type, industry segment, region and company size.

For the first time, key industry segments represented in this study include: EMS/ODM companies, OEM/end-product manufacturers, PCB fabricators and assembly/fabrication equipment manufacturers.

The study also highlights the expected percentage change in overall executive compensation budgets for 2013 and indicates an average 2.9 percent increase for 2013. From an employee benefit plan perspective, the responding companies pay an average of 81.5 percent of employees’ health insurance premiums. Most also offer life insurance, defined contribution retirement plans and long-term and short-term disability insurance.

With the current state of the economy, IPC realizes how important it is to track trends and provide members with comprehensive, accurate and timely data on compensation and benefits in the industry,” said Sree Bhagwat, IPC market research manager.   IPC Executive Compensation Study for the North American Electronics Industry 2011-2012 is free to participating companies and available for purchase at $950 for IPC members and $1,900 at the standard industry rate. For more information or to purchase the study, visit www.ipc.org/2011-12-Executive-Compensation-Study.

IPC also plans to conduct its online survey for the Wage Rate and Salary Study for the Electronics Industry in August.  To participate in future studies, contact IPC’s Market Research Manager, Sree Bhagwat, at +1 330-677-5563 or SreeBhagwat@ipc.org.  For information on other IPC market research studies, visit www.ipc.org/marketresearchreports.
