Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADTK), a leading manufacturer of flexible automation for the fiber optic, telecommunications and semiconductor industries, today announced that its vice president of business development, Charlie Duncheon, will deliver a presentation at the Strategies in Optical Manufacturing Conference in San Jose, CA in session 7, Automation Strategies for Optical Component Manufacturing, of the conference. Mr. Duncheon's presentation entitled, "How to Develop an Automation Strategy," will begin at 11:30 on Wednesday, April 24 and will discuss photonics manufacturing processes, specifically techniques to improve yield in epoxy bonding and laser welding applications, automatic and semi-automatic automation strategies and an economic analysis of typical automation investments.

The Strategies in Optical Manufacturing Conference will take place April 23rd - 24th at the Double Tree Hotel in San Jose, CA. It is one of the only events in the world that focuses specifically on the strategic manufacturing issues facing commercial producers of optoelectric and photonics components and subsystems and is designed to give equipment suppliers an important perspective on the needs of the component makers, and the component and subsystem producers a key opportunity to present their needs to the suppliers. Session 7 of the conference, Automation Strategies for Optical Component Manufacturing, will take place April 24, 2002 and will discuss strategic issues on how and when it is best to automate.
