SMTA Announces Upcoming Webinars

Minneapolis, MN - The SMTA is pleased to announce several new webinars coming up in March. Webinars are 60 to 90 minute online presentations comparable to a conference session. In response to industry-wide budget cuts and travel restrictions, SMTA has committed to increasing its online programming to better accommodate member needs for technical exchange.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010 12-1:30pm Eastern / 9-10:30am Pacific Presented by Dr. Harald Wack, ZESTRON America

Attendees will learn about recent cleaning challenges including the removal of flux residues under challenging low standoff components such as 0603 chip capacitors, while using pH-neutral de-fluxing agents as well as alkaline chemistries with reduced VOC levels.

Root Cause Failure Analysis of PCB Assemblies

Wednesday, March 3, 2010 3-4:30pm Eastern / 12-1:30pm Pacific Presented by Dale Lee, Plexus Corporation This presentation and discussion will introduce the element of root cause failure analysis through the correlation of product and tooling design with assembly defects including examples of actual product design, manufacturing tooling design, and SMT & PTH assembly process issues matched to actual product failures.
