NBS adds more new SMT Assembly Capacity

Sep 08, 2009

Leading EMS provider NBS (www.nbscorp.com) has today announced the installation of an additional new SMT line at its headquarters facility in Santa Clara, California. Continued growth in demand for the company’s end-to–end solutions fueled the need for what is now the fourth fully automated line there.

The new line features Juki’s latest Model FX-3 modular high-speed placement system, and expands capacity to accommodate all up-to-date package styles including 01005, 0201, 0402, QFP, QFN, ball grid array (BGA), microBGA, and chip scale packages.

Juki’s award winning FX-3 placement system features IPC speed of 60K CPH and fits seamlessly into ultra-high-speed assembly lines delivering high accuracy and repeatability day after day at the lowest cost of ownership. Featuring powerful optimization software and quick-change feeder banks, the FX-3 sets the standard for electronics manufacturing uptime.

“We are thrilled at the prospect of NBS selecting us for their new line. It is a testimony to NBS management that their growth continues unabated through the economic downturn,” said Juki President & CEO Bob Black.

Founded in 1999 as a PCB layout specialist, NBS has maintained continuous growth and a unique business model that delivers leading edge services in design engineering, manufacturing, and test and verification to a to a large and diverse customer base serving all industry segments and geographies. The company’s acquisition in 2009 of CompServ has since enabled the company to expand the scope of those services to include advanced supply chain logistics, custom products sourcing and a wide array of test services.

“Unrivaled response time and impeccable quality have been cornerstones of our success and the delight of our uniquely varied customer base,” explained Chris Alessio, VP Sales and Marketing. “Our latest expansion is not simply about capacity but an extension of a facility capitalization that is second to none in Tier II space.”
