NUWC is the Navy's premier research, development, test and evaluation engineering, and fleet support center for submarine warfare systems and other systems associated with the undersea battlespace. The Keyport Division of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center will use R&D Technical’s RD2 model to meet the undersea warfare (USW) requirements of the 21st century.

The RD2 uses vapor phase technology to provide consistent, uniform heat transfer for high-quality reflow, curing and drying. The advanced reflow system was designed to accommodate low-volume production and smaller sized products. Additionally, the RD2 delivers user-friendly operation and unsurpassed process control, resulting in the perfect marriage of convected and vapor phase technologies. The RD2 allows any company, regardless of size, to produce products of the highest quality.
The updated RD2 has a working envelope of 15"L x 18"W x 2.5"H using a version of R&D Technical Services’ patented palletized conveyor system that keeps the product horizontal throughout the process. The system features touch screen controls, a convected preheat zone, vapor preheat function, programmable recipes, a cooling zone, and a working fluid auxiliary tank and filter system.
