Juki Automation Systems Inc. unveiled its innovative new screen printer for use in printed circuit board production and SMT applications at APEX 2001 in San Diego, CA. The KS-1700 features a Juki original floating and rotating squeegee head design. The squeegee head is equipped with a linear guide and cylinder, allowing it to rotate 90 degrees, and enabling the operator to easily clean front and back blades. The floating squeegee head offers no sliding resistance and consistently prints at low pressure while evenly rolling solder paste. The polymer based squeegee blades operate efficiently, therefore extending the life of worn stencils.
The KS-1700 Printer remedies inconsistent printing and insufficient stencils by troubleshooting problems often encountered with competitive systems. Juki's screen printer is easy to set up, use and clean, resulting in more uptime, better functionality and superior overall performance.
Designed with a proprietary stencil release system and snap off plate bar, the KS-1700 has the fastest changeover time in the industry. The machine also includes additional standard features, like a solder paste dispenser that holds standard cartridges, optional on many competitive machines.
The KS-1700 printer's dual fiducial cameras provide a fully automated vision system for both stencil and board, resulting in outstanding print accuracy 0.001* (0.03mm) @3s with fiducials, 0.004* (0.10mm) without fiducials). The machine prevents build-up and dirty heads by utilizing the new floating squeegee head configuration, stencil separation mechanisms and a stencil release system. The KS-1700's auto conveyor width adjustment, now a standard feature, results in minimal board warping. Warp tolerance is 0.079* (2.0mm).
The KS-1700 also has flexible transport system specifications. Standard height is 37.40*, 0.787* (900mm, 20,mm). There are buffer conveyors on both input and output with an optional rear fixed rail, right to left and a 20*x20* stencil adapter.
