The Grayhill 62S is a miniature optical encoder with an optional integral pushbutton.
It is available direct through EAO.
The 62S has a 13 x 14mm cross-section and has a behind-panel depth of just 7.4mm, the smallest of any Grayhill encoder.
Small but packed with features, it is a versatile encoder offering a wide range of options including a choice of low, medium and high torque settings; five actuation forces; 8-32 detented positions or no detent at all.
The range of settings provides a high level of positive tactile feedback.
The robust stainless steel and Zamac construction means it will operate through one million cycles within a thermal range of -40 to +60C.
The 62S has a 2bit quadrature coded output.
It is available with either PCB or cable terminations.
The integral pushbutton makes the 62S particularly well suited to scroll-and-enter data input applications including GPS navigation systems, test and measurement equipment, medical devices and industrial controls.
