Nov 15, 2012 Former corporate vice president of research and development (R&D) and strategic planning at General Motors (GM), Larry Burns, Ph.D., will share his compelling vision of design and technology innovations within the automobile industry during his keynote address, “Reinventing the Automobile,” at IPC APEX EXPO® on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the San Diego Convention Center.
According to Dr. Burns, the technology enabling driverless cars may be the most transformational to impact the roadways and is less than a decade away from being mass produced. Speaking from years of experience at GM, along with his current pursuits as a professor of engineering at the University of Michigan, director of the Program on Sustainable Mobility for the Earth Institute at Columbia University, consultant for Google’s self-driving car program, and contractor with National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Dr. Burns is committed to making driverless cars a reality.
