Conformal Coating Process Characterization Considerations

Conformal coating is an enabling process that allows for the ruggedizing of electronic devices and modules. As the process increases the durability of electronics that are subjected to various end-use environmental conditions, it adds value to the product. While it does add value, consumers and manufacturers expect the electronics to work when subjected to dirt, humidity, moisture, corrosive materials, and various other contaminants. This expectation results in a drive to minimize the cost of the process. The lowest cost of ownership for a conformal coating process occurs by utilizing automated selective conformal coating equipment.

Conformal Coating Thickness Measurement

The measurement of the conformal coating thickness on a printed circuit board (PCB) to ensure internal and international standards are met is now a critical factor in conformal coating process control. There are several methods for measurement of conformal coating thickness and they fall into two categories. These categories are wet film measurements applied during coating application and dry film measurements made after the coating is dried enough not to damage the coating.

CE for ESE US7000x -- Hi, we are looking for a CE certificate for ESE US7000X. Does anybody have it? We have already sent several emails to ESE but they are taking their time.

Help me to choose AOI-machine! -- Hello everyone, I have been going through forum and noticed that there is quite much people, who has experience for AOI machines. Our company is purchasing first AOI-machine and i would love to get comments from people who has experience as a user from different AOI machines. :) We are small CM-company and we are focused for high mix/low volume production. So ease of programming is important to us. We have yamaha printer and PnP machines. At the moment i have these options: - Yamaha YSi-V/YRi-V - Parmi XCEED - Koh Young Zenith2 - Viscom iS6059 - Omron VT-S 1080 - Mirtec MV-6/9 - ViTrox V510i (Im really interested about that but havent got any real user experiences) So between those machines i would need to choice. So if someone know any pros/cons from machines and have used many of those and could give a little comparison between machines i would really appreciate that. :) Also some machines above have those AI programming tools but i have never heard if those really works so if anyone have experience about those please hit me up!
