The buffer module: short power failures Short power failures or “brown-outs” in the range of several hundred milliseconds can be handled reliably and cost-efficient with our buffer module. It is simply actuated via two lines in parallel to the basic device of SITOP modular. Electrolytic capacitors regulate the energy storage. As soon as the 24 V are under run, the capacitors release the energy immediately. By connecting several buffer modules in parallel, the bridging time can be increased accordingly. Thus, power failures of up to 3 seconds can be reliably bridged.
