Job Description: |
A senior management role focused on providing world class customer service. Taking responsibility for the majority of the AFD supply chain and ensuring that our customers receive their parts in the right quantities and at the right time.
POSITION DUTIES/ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

Management of the ‘production planning department’ (functions and staff) within AFD to include: master planning/scheduling, capacity planning, scheduling of 3rd party processing, provision of factored products, pick, pack and shipping.

Management of the AFD supply chain (with the exception of purchasing, goods-in and stores) within the scope of supply of all products manufactured at the site.

Customer service with regard to the supply of the right parts, in the correct quantities, at the right time. To include delivery performance of the business and factored products. Drive initiatives to improve delivery performance and be the voice of the customer with regard to delivery issues.

Providing the manufacturing organisation and the business directors with an overview of customer demand, through the compilation of customer’s historical purchase behaviour, existing order book and forecast information. Have a ‘finger on the pulse’ of customer’s purchasing behaviour.

A regular medium term overview of customer demand and plant loading in the form of a three month rolling forecast. Such a forecast should be presented in a Sales & Operations Planning format and should allow for balancing of demand with available capacity medium term

Scheduling of manufacturing activities, through the release of detailed monthly manufacturing plans. Such plans should provide adequate stocks of parts in balance with optimising costs and should allow manufacturing management to plan labour and equipment resource.

Inventory levels throughout the business. Set levels of inventory in liaison with commercial colleagues, control inventories in conjunction with production colleagues and minimise obsolete inventory through the control of build vs. demand.

Provision of regular management reports, including; delivery performance, delivery to request date, backlog status, plant loading, lead-time status and customer demand.

Liaison with Sales in order to satisfy customer needs and with production staff, including production manager and factory fine planner, to assist with level loading of the plant.

All aspects of shipping and transportation, to include control of costs against an agreed budget. Management of the pick, pack and shipping staff.

Responsible for compliance with all aspects of operating a Free Trade Zone.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have an understanding of commercial T&C’s and material exposure and liability.

Excellent numeric skills.

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and in writing).

Strong personality that is capable and willing to make decisions.
-
Must be computer literate with both MRP systems and Excel Spreadsheets.

Working knowledge of Oracle.
-
Proficiency with commercial carrier software and SED system.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
-
At least five (5) years experience in supply chain management.

Experience in the following required: master scheduling; MRP implementation, capacity planning and inventory management.

Bachelor’s degree Business/Engineering or in another related field required.
