Component Engineer

Reptron Manufacturing Services, a large electronics contract manufacturer, is adding an experienced component engineer to it�s manufacturing integration team. Can be based in either Hibbing, Minnesota or Tampa, Florida. The successful candidate will have an extensive knowledge in the field of electronics and be responsible for the component engineering aspects of an assigned project. Responsibilities: Maintain Reptron�s database for all components used in production Provide new internal numbers to components of new or existing customers Guidance on cross-referencing components in cases of obsolescence Check for accuracy on manufacturer�s part numbers on customer BOMs Research new products, standards and software as they become available for continuous improvement efforts. Make suggestions and cost justifications for tools to support the component engineering functions Capture labor time spent on chargeable Customer projects Assist department manager in developing and implementing area procedures, work instructions, forms and documentation Experience Required: Must have at least three years' of recent experience in an electronics environment. BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
