Quality/Process Engineer III

The experienced Supplier Quality Engineer III will develop two-way, mutually beneficial relationships with strategic supply partners to deliver greater levels of innovation and competitive advantage than could be achieved by operating independently or through a traditional, transactional purchasing arrangement. Position reports to the Director of Quality Systems.

• Collect & evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain
• Work with the suppliers directly, create corrective action plans to address process failures
• Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement & value enhancements
• Regularly communicate with Engineering, Estimators & Procurement departments to identify opportunities for quality & productivity improvements
• Collect & maintain supplier performance metrics & action plans
• Participate in CCB meetings to ensure awareness to design changes
• Ensure implementation is in accordance with 1st article process & other quality requirements
• Assist Supply Chain in conducting supplier audits and maintain audit results
• Monitors supplier quality through weekly and monthly PPM/scorecard reports; requests & obtains corrective actions per quality & delivery performance
• Participate in Management Review meetings & present purchased product quality issues
• Perform or lead root cause analysis on purchased part/product quality issues & work issues through containment phase of process
• Participate in Corrective Action Review (CAR) Board
• Recommend suppliers for qualification/disqualification based on quality performance
• Establish quality criteria per UEC & customer requirements for receiving inspection
  

• Bachelors degredd in an engineering field
• 6 years related quality assurance experience
• 3 years experience managing suppliers
• Working knowledge of ISO/AS9100 standards
• Ability to read & understand drawings
• Self-starter with ability to handle multiple tasks & set priorities in fast-paced environment to achieve goals
• Knowledge of Inspections & Quality Control methods - measuring tools such calipers, micrometers, height/depth gages, dial indicators, etc
• Ability to interface with mfg & technicians to implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues
• Proficient in quality analysis tools such as 5Whys, SPC, PFMEA
• Strong problem solving skills with ability to teach basic problem solving techniques & facilitate problem-solving team events
