Would like help with Fuji IP-1 fine placement machine | 27 January, 2006

We are a New Zealand company that purchased a used Fuji IP-1 locally. There is no Fuji support here but we've managed to get the IP-1 up and running with just the use of the manuals. There are many things that the manuals do not explain and I would like to find an experienced person or group to ask questions to. We are willing to pay.

Questions would be similar to:

1) After getting the vision recognition system to recognized and accept a SOT23 package and place it correctly at the zero rotation position why does the vision system reject the same part if we pre-rotate it at 90 degrees, 180 degrees or 270 degrees?

2) After placing a part from feeder location 1 to 35 the machine turns off the nozzle vaccum. Why does the nozzle vaccum stay on after placing a part from the tray? Is there a way to turn the nozzle vacuum off?

1) The Binary vision system does not like many variables. 2) I believe that to be a firmware bug. Find out what version you are running and contact either Fuji America Corporation or Fuji Japan directly. You are better off trying FAC.
