Our Universal HSP 4796B is throwing nozzles completely out of heads near where the cam-arms/plates (not sure what to call them?) push them back in to the top, parked position after use. My first thought is that the cam arms have become out of tolerance (too low) and are not pushing the nozzles back up far enough to engauge them in the notch that seats/holds them in the top position. Any ideas on where to start with trouble shooting would be greatly appreciated. Thanks --

The problem you report is very uncommon. Nozzles falling out of the placement heads can only be caused by severe mis-adjustment or failed parts. The following items should be checked: 1) Nozzle position hooks (on placement heads) 2) Clutch solenoid/valves for nozzle storage and nozzle selection. 3) Storage plate height level for nozzle storage and selection.

The front nozzle plate arm had a build-up of grease and material on the roller plate that is closest to the linear bearing. This material caused the nozzle plate to be lower than normal; therefore it was not able to push the nozzle all the way to the up position. Release of the nozzle in this condition eventually caused some of the nozzles to fall out of the head. I recovered all nozzles, cleaned them, put them back in the heads, adjusted lighting histograms and did a head/nozzle offset teach routine. In short - bad maintenance.
