Run a water-soluble mask that foams in the wash. Use a de-foamer to contol that. One or the other, or both are causing a greasy build-up that is hard to get off in certain areas. I have a closed loop DI water system. Can I use some sort of detergent to clean the wash out? Something that would help beak down this build-up? Thanks

This build up is likely related to the defoamer. Defoamers are typically based on waxes and/or high molecular weight Hydrocarbons.

As defoamers only need to work on the exposed fluid surface, not a lot of defoamer is needed (unless you are using a weir drain). Check the amount of defoamer you are using. Small amounts, milliliters, are likely that's all that is required. Too much may result in the build up you are experiencing.

To remove the film build up, use a non-foaming detergent (like cascade). Be careful to minimize the amount of detergent introduced to your close loop system.

Hello, We just cleaned our wash a few months ago. I used white vinegar. No dillution, straight up in a spray bottle. Spray it on let it sit for a few minutes, comes right off. You might need to use a stainless scrubby on some of the tough areas, But works excellent.
