Banners | 13 July, 1998

I just need to know if anyone else is experiencing this. The banners at the top of the screen are causing interference with my back button. it seems as though each time the banner changes, It's also adding one more step in my history, so when I hit back, the banner will revert but the page wont... -Ben

Thank you very much for the feedback. The problem will be fixed by 9:00AM U.S. Eastern Standard Time. Before that please use the link "SMT Forum ...Q&A" above the message instead of clicking the "Back" button. Thank you for bearing with us as we experiment with new things. Cunli

What kinda' browser are ya' surfin' with? I'm on AOL so I have Explorer as a default, but I surf with Netscape most of the time...I switch back and forth a lot. I've not had the problem you seem to be having, but I have noticed over the past couple of weeks that INTERNET traffic gets really heavy between 3pm-7pm (california time) and it does take a little bit longer for the page to load than what the banners take. I looked at my URL history while I was here and I don't see it logging the banners as a old site...I wonder if it's your browser? Have ya' tried reloading it? -Steve Gregory-

Re: Banners (RIGHT) | 14 July, 1998

Ben: You are right, I have had the same problem for the past week or so. Thought it was something to do with "moving on up", to Win98. Glad to know it wasn't my computer. I had not connected it to the banner updating... Wayne

| Ben and others, | The banner problem has been fixed and your "Back" button should | work as usual now. Sorry for the inconvenience. | Cunli Thanks Cunli!! I guess I was having the same problem after all...the page was loading up, just real slow before, but I thought it was due to the NET traffic. When Ben said it was relogging the banners, I just looked at the URL history here in my browser window, and I didn't see anything strange. But today when I did my weekly scandisk, defrag, and deleting of all unecessary files (temporary internet files is one of them) I just about pooped myself...I had over 5,700 files in there!!! Hooo-boy, thatsa' lotsa' files!! Pert near 7-megs worth!! Thanks Cunli for straightening that little glitch out! I thank you, and my hard drive thanks you!!! -Steve Gregory-
