Re: Question | 7 December, 2000

Hi Hany,

Unfortunately, as things presently stand, there is no method for posting an image directly to the forum. You can post an image to another location, such as Yahoos Geocities (www.yahoo.com), www.driveway.com, or any other similar site. If your ISP (Internet Service Provider) provides you with a free site you could put up a picture there as well. Once you have posted the image, then you can indicate where it is located via a URL (Universal Resource Locator). (The URL is the address of the item. It usually appears in the address bar of your browser.) When you post to the forum, you can then paste the URL into the optional form field Optional Image URL. Participants in the forum could then go ahead view the image. You could also paste up a simple web page showing the image and point to it via the optional form field Optional Link URL. Folks could then click this link to go to the page and view the image.

I hope that this helps.

Have a nice day! -Andre (SMTnet)

This would be a very helpful [and cool] thing to do.

Andre: I understand that SMTnet does not have this capability at this time ...

... but if someone was looking to add services to a new version of SMTnet, I'd like to see maybe 10M set aside as a communial posting area for images. In this, the images would remain in the posting area until it was full. Then the oldest image would roll-off into oblivan.
