For typical small sized circle LED panels, you can simply have a PCB routed to said circle...

but when lighting fixtures are sizes 2-3 feet+, and a circular, typically how are the LEDs being spread across the radius? I can see flex LED strips being useful if the lighting was being sent out vertically, but if the lighting is required to be facing down, as usual overhead lighting, you can not curve a flex circuit to make circles. Therefore, is the general way of assembling these type of fixtures using arrays of a LEDs connected via wiring to complete the circles?

I'd love to hear any experience or ideas for the best DFM ways of manufacturing and assembling LEDs into curved fixture end products, that generally require flexible boards in the first place since they're not always a perfect vertical plane in terms of mounting/design.

We make PCB assemblies for an RGB arc that is made up of multiple curved PCB's that have connectors on the ends to plug together. I think the end the radius of the arc is 2 feet. Jerry

I'm not an electronics guy, but I was renovating a home and ran into or considered a lighting issue like this (e.g., LED on a serpentine shape). Haven't gotten to that yet, but one option to consider might be wrapping them around the perimeter of the object and then having a reflective material beveled at a 45-degree angle or other to reflect the light. something bright white or metal duct tape. Just a thought.
