We have 30 LED PCBs. Only differences between them are size and led counts. there's about 10cm (3.9inches) between smallest and largest board. and leds start from 60 to 80 pcs. and all leds are the same

My question is that, do i have to set 30 different oven profiles up to their size anyway? if so is it mentioned in any article or IPC standarts?

or is it enough to set one profile for all of them.

Perform profiling with a product where the LED is placed more than on another products. You get a valuable case with a higher delta T and possible maximum reflow temperature must use, etc. This profile will be used for similar products. You need to optimize a profile that represents typical SAC 305 limits, thermal mass and warpage factors + the LED reflow cycle specification.

It is about thermal mass and heat dissipation. If you want to be accurate, you should profile each one. If you want to be efficient, You should design all panels to come to the same size. This way variation from panel to panel will be minimal (given same PCB thickness) and you can run them all under same profile

All depends on how accuracy you require -- Incase if the PCB layers are same along with same solder paste uses -- pls segregate as batch in terms of similar pcb dimension ( within 30cm variation) attach thermo couples to maximum area -- May be you need to capture 5 or 10 different types of profiles maximum..!!!

We have a customer that at one point had a dozen LED boards that were all very similar in size. They used Aluminum boards and I found that the difference in thermal mass between the assemblies was negligible considering the largest difference was actual LED count, and their mass was such a small percentage of the total. So I created a Recipe that covered almost all of the assemblies under 16". I do run my ovens at the slowest belt speed that puts the product in the reflow for close to the maximum for paste life. That way it's one less variable.
