There are some "rule of thumb" design approaches for circle apertures for BGA's. Does anyone use rule of thumb formulas for square/squircle apertures for BGA? If so, what are they?

BGA Square Aperture Formula | 7 July, 2023

Use the volume of paste of your circular aperture as the starting point. Calculate: Volume = pi X (aperture diameter^2 / 4) X stencil thickness

Determine the sides of your square aperture using the volume of paste that you calculated and the stencil thickness. Calculate: side of square = (Volume / stencil thickness)^(square root)
