We are having an issue with a Jade S200 we recently purchased. When opening the pillarcom software it is unable to establish communication with the machine. The power supplies and fuses all seem to be ok and at proper voltages. Checked as many connections for security as I could find. Comm cable is secure, e-stops are out. On the main controller the 42V=E and 24V=E lights are not illuminated but I have not found documentation on their meaning in the manual yet. I have attached some photos, so if anyone has any thoughts we would appreciate your ideas! Thanks

When I press the green start-cycle button the 42V=E light illuminates but the 24V=E light does not. Could this be related?

I found a broken COM3 connector on the fluxer interface board where the PC comms go through and replaced the connector. Now when trying to establish communications the exhaust fan turns off briefly a few times then it times out and reports a failure to communicate. It did not turn off the fans before replacing the connector.

Does anyone have any suggestion as to what might be the issue? I am not sure where else to look on the machine.

Thanks

Next step trace the RS232 cable. Check all output voltages on your power supplys, b oth loaded an d unloaded. Note any differences. Check he impedancesa of your loads ie is your 24 volt load only measuring a few ohms. You may have a short?

Is there any RS232 to USB involved with the machine? I'm guessing that it is a new to you machine that had been running before you bought it.

We had an oven like that that would not find the machine. I noticed that a setting had been 2 then later was 3. I set it to 1 and rebooted. It worked.

I tried using a WIFI USB dongle on a machine that was new to us and was working fine. The machine stopped working until I removed the dongle. It also had com to usb adapters.

I have been told that it makes no difference which USB port you use. Not always true.
