KISS 103 Selective Solder programming HELP | 19 July, 2022

Hello,

We have a 2011 KISS 103 Selective Soldering machine but we're having trouble programming it. All we have to go on is the Operations manual and I'm following the instructions but it is not working correctly. I can get it to flux the paths properly but when it goes to solder it doesn't solder in the right spot, it's off by several cm in both the X and Y.

I assume this has something to do with the board zero point and I have tried several different ways of setting the zero point but nothing seems to be helping. I don't understand why the flux aligns fine but the solder is off.

I'd really like to get this thing running but I am extremely confused about what I am doing wrong. If anyone has knowledge of these machines and could help me figure this out, it would be most appreciated!

I can help with this. Is your machine running MACH software or SWAK?

If you want to email me, you can. I am 90% sure I know what the issue is.

Not sure if the email went through so I'll just reply here too, the machine is running MACH software (Mach3).

Thanks so much for replying!

I emailed you my procedure for that. Did you not get it?

PRocedure is attached to post.

I had calibration jigs made, but you can use a glass plate with a crosshair, or a hole in the board.

That was exactly the problem, it's working properly now!

great. If you need anymore help, let me know. At one point I had four of the MACH3 machines. I still have 1 that doesn't get used much, but I have two SWAK machines now.

Did you ever get my email, or did you just grab the doc I attached to this post?

I got your email and responded a few times. I asked you another question via email, but you can ignore it if you find it because I managed to figure it out.

I really can't thank you enough, I never would have figured out the calibration issue without your help!

I see now that you sent me 4 emails. They got kicked to SPAM, so sorry about that. I'm glad you figured out the z-height.

If you have another issues, let me know. I know these machines pretty well.

Not a problem, it forced me to put on my big boy pants and figure it out for myself. I felt pretty dumb when I realized what I had missed.

If you have any custom procedures made up for maintaining the solder pumps and pot that would be great. I'm not very mechanically inclined, it looks like the instructions in the manual are pretty detailed... I just don't know.

I'm sure you'll hear from me again at some point in the future!
