Ground straps and dress shoes

How do you keep a standard foot strap from riding up on the top of your foot when wearing dress shoes ?

The stretchy part rides up past your shoe laces and ends up contacting the top of your foot which becomes uncomfortable quickly.....

I know there are different types of foot straps etc, but I was wondering if there's and kind of trick with the standard ones.
