Using Stripfeeders on MyData Tray Wagons

We had both a MY15 and a TP11 both with tray wagons and we taped strips to the tray wagon all the time with great success. we used double sided tape, sometimes with magnets, and then created "trays" as if the tape strip was a matrix tray. (1 x 10,15 or 20 pockets). It worked flawlessly every time. What type of issues are you having?

We built a tray that accepts tape. It is made out of a waffle tray and board breakaways. It works very well. We use magnets to mount it on our Y-Wagon teaching it as a tray.

We find sticking tape down to the tray wagon or to a base plate is Ok but not very repeatable - when you peel the empty off and stiock a new on e down you have to relocate it every time so some way of holding the strip in a repeatable way is better. Mydatas strip holder is hopeless - only goes on the Y wagon. The COT adjustable plate looks great but is expensive. We've made our own over the years similar to the pictures above.

I agree with all other posters...strips on the Y-Wagon have always worked out, rather easily. Some people I've met consider it a benefit to having a MyData.

However, I would add that MyData's handle strips in the feeders better than most other pick and place machines out there. Before asking about using the Y-Wagon, I would question why you don't just load the strip onto your regular feeders. IMO, that's why you get a MyData instead of, say, an Assembleon.

We work with a TP9-4 and a MY12 both with tray wagons, I like a lot the tray wagon, for big components we use it, but like AVFM we build our own pallets, and some of them were big 3x30 array or even bigger all pallets were done in a ESD material, never had a problem with them,what problems do you have?
