CP4 jerks all axis after power up and reset sw... | 11 April, 2012

Hi all,

Our cp4 moves rather violently (jerks) all axis when the reset sw is pressed after power up. I've got all sorts of errors after boot up:

Servo amp error: D,X,Y, etc Overtravel D,X,Y, etc D clutch error, power off machine

We've checked all power supplies and they look fine. I had the cpu board tested and it was ok. There are no error codes on the servo PCBs or the servo amps. I've checked all breakers in the machine and nothing is tripped. The 200vac 3-phase supply is fine.

This machine was working and then it started to do this. Any clues what to do next?

Thanks

Have you tried to do a reset start? When Fuji's act weird the first place to start is a reset start, then re-load the Proper Status and Program.

I've done the Fuji flush. It does the same thing. We can not load proper again because it does not communicate with either the F4G or MCS/30.

I was able to boot into mechanical mode at one point but now I can not do that either.

This thing is driving me crazy. Most of the time there is a logic to the errors... this time it looks like it is just ... crazy.

Thanks

Sounds like a bad or out of adjustment servo amp.....

Have you tried to restart F4G and/or MCS/30 after flushing the CP4 memory? I have occasionally ran into the comm error after a reset start. Leave the machine on and restart F4G or the MCS/30 whichever normally is hooked up. If it still won't communicate it might be the CPU board (no comm and the axis jerking at start-up).

Well... after much headache I found a bad relay contact in M1CR1E. The good news is somehow the axis are no longer jerking. The bad news is that it still does not work.

When I turn it on now it shows this:

emergency stop (in red) waiting for reset sw (in yellow) Servo amp alarm: D, FQ axis (in yellow) memory backup ng (in yellow) d clutch error (in red) turn off power (in red)

I press the reset sw it clears the errors from the display and I can hear a contactor switch on (M1MS2), after about 3 seconds goes back to flashing the reset button with the same errors above.

I've checked the servos and there are no error codes on them. I've checked the d clutch and as far as I can tell the sensors are fine because I can see the input in the PLC (Direct I/O, IN3B2 and IN3B4 on)

thanks
