F4G setup: cannot connect to local socket error? | 11 February, 2010

Hi All,

I'm setting up the F4G software for our line (currently using MCS30). I made an adapter to connect the CP4 line (that was connected to the MCS30) to the PC. Then I tried to transmit a program but I keep getting this error:

41A27F9D: Error occurred in TCP/IP communication Failed to send myProgramName from 'F4G' to 'FCP4'. (Error # = T-0001:::Cannot connect to local socket)

I installed the F4G with the shared files option. The database is in the network. The program I'm trying to transmit was transfered from the MCS30 via RS232 (thanks for the cable pinout to the person who replied) to the PC. I had some error in the program which I managed to fix. The data checker now says there are no errors so I wanted to try to transmit. The PC is running Windows2000 and has only one serial port connected to the CP4.

I'm so stucked! Can anyone help?

Thanks

Rodrigo, First make sure PC/F4g is installed correctly, check if F4g is connecting to CC so select FTP tool & select host & connect F4G>CC if this works good, MCS & F4G cables are different also different to the Host cable i gave you before. do you have setup manuals? regards llew

What do you mean by "check if F4G is connecting to CC...". The CC DOS windows shows up when I login the PC so does the remote shell daemon. The CC DOS windows says a bunch of stuff does has been woken. I didn't install the FTP stuff. I didn't think I needed it. Is that the problem? I was looking into that yesterday and I couldn't get to the "services" tab in the network icon. Windows2000 didn't show that. BTW thanks for the cable and yes I have a setup manual (ELEN00084-00). BTW I also didn't installed CCPSS because it said it was for the HELPS which I'm not sure what it is so I figure I don't have it. Besides that was showing an error in the CC DOS windows. It went away after I removed it.

Thanks again.

Rodrigo, The machine Program is in F4g it is then sent to the CC Via FTP and a IMF/PGO is created then the program is sent to machine so FTP F4g>CC is a must. IIS must be installed & setup on windows regards Llew

F4G setup: cannot connect to local socket error? | 12 February, 2010

I posted the message below on Friday and today Monday I started looking at the problem again. We have a computer with a setup that works. It is the original PC we bought with the F4G but it is set up for a machine we do now have ,IP3. I was looking at the FTP setup and I notice some differences with the one I'm setting up. I installed the IIS but I didn't set up the FTP ... server. So I setup the FTP server and checked the FTP tool from the F4G. I no longer get the directories error when I switch to program mode.

I tried to transmit a program but ... still no luck. Here is the new error I get:

41A27F9C: Error occured in executing C/C command by RSH. Failed to send program 'MyProgramName' from F4G to FCP4. (Error #= C-0001:52110062::).

I think RSH is the remote shell daemon, right? It is running. It loads at startup with C/C.

Thanks again.

[Original post below this line] ---------------------

I installed the IIS but I couldn't follow the instructions for setup because it doesn't show tabs after I click the network icons. I run the FTP tool from the F4G. I didn't realized that's what you meant in your previous post. It connects but there is a problem with the CC directories. It seems to want to read from "dd/CC/Trans/Prog". The F4G.INI file says that's for OS-9. So I'm pretty sure I missed something else :-). I tried to transmit the program and it shows a couple of errors. Here they are:

1015: Can not exchange of message [I click OK]

41A27F9E Failed to send 'MyProgramName' from F4G to FCP4. Error # =F-0001:::550 /dd/CC/Trans/Prog/MyProgramName: access is denied

What did I missed?

Thanks a bunch for all the help!
