Hello

I have a trouble with converting CAD-Data in to Pick and Place Files. I have a export-file from Cades-G and I need a File in the ASCII-Format which includes REF, X, Y and DEG, regardless of order to import in my ESSEMTEC Placer. Some months ago, I had the same trouble with the Zuken Cadstar, which generated Pin-1 Coordinates. By creating a new report file, i could solve this. With Cades-G, also owned by the Zuken Company, according to the support it is not possible to generate such Pick and Place reports. Is there any other technician confronted with this trouble, especcialy with ESSEMTEC-Placers? I read from other Placers, which use the same format as the ESSEMTEC Placers. And I can't belive that there is no way to convert this data for placers... What are your experiences? Thank you for your feedback.

Try one of these software firms, that's what they do:

Hi Pete Thank you for your feedback. A few weeks ago, I tested the Demo-Version of GC Powerplace but I was a bit disappointed about the results. For big Boards, I was still a long time busy assingning the designators to the pads. I search a simple tool, which detect the common housing forms and calculates its center. It should not be a impossible thing to assign the designators to the centers automatic, if you had the pin-1 coordinates(pin-1 is in the range of the shape or near to it). is there really no such tool? I'll lock at the other software you postet, but i think there is no trial version of it.

valors vplan could be of interest here, you can have a small setup that can read native ASCII Cad file export from Zuken - ie not worry about centroid export from Zuken. It can read in the actual CAD DB from Zuken, or import ODB++ from Zuken.

You have many tools like bom to cad, rotation correction centroid, correction tools and virtual sticky tape merge that make the final centroid file validated very quickly....

Just a idea and you would have to investigate what would work for you.
