Does anyone know an easy way to back up an old Quad IVC? These computers are ancient and of course have no cd drives. Thanks for any input.

Many years ago we purchased a IOmega ZIP drive that would connect to the parallel port of the computer. They have a utility called "guest" that we installed on all of the IVC computers. We were then able to connect the drive to the parallel port and run "guest" and backup each system. Since then we have connected all of our IVC's to a Novell network, all of the programs are stored on the Novell server and automatically backup each night. You need a good IT guy to set this up.

xcopy is probably the cheapest way, although it's a manual operation. We just used a batch (.bat) file called "backup" that ran xcopy on our pcb file directories and dumped the copies to a second hard drive on the same pc.

If you can't install secondary drives in your pc's, you probably should upgrade.
