Hello again, Has anyone experience any problem with their vision system on the DEK machine. Machine had been running fine for at least one year without any major problem until this week. Machine's response is very slow especially the vision system. Machine boots up ok. I can intialize it without any error. As soon as you push any of the funtions key,it takes a while. I have spoken to Dek already and even had some one come in any they are recommending about $10k worth of parts replacement like camera and PC. Company's owner isn't buying it. Any sugeestion?????????? Thank you.

Sure.........since the company owner obviously knows more about DEK printers than DEK does.........tell him to fix it.

I agree. Go tell your boss he doesn't know crap and he should fix it himself. That is typically the best route to go.

OK I'm a tech and I would not start with replacing both a computer and a camera. spend as much time with tech support as possible via telephone that is what they are there for. If they can't help keep posting this message. The good old stand by is to reload all software.

All the best.

That was the first thing I did. I reloaded the software and machine actually started to work. After 2 hours machine crapped out again with same problem.

Not bad for DEK. Are you sure the hard drive is OK?

I think so,but what do you mean if hard drive is ok. Please explain.Computer boots up ok and machine even goes through it's complete intialization steps. I was thinking the same way as you are to start replacing one componet at a time. what do you think? Thanks

Two way to check a HardDisk: 1. run a dedicated software check (each brand should have one soft) or run a test-benchmark that You can easily find on web 2. make "ghost" image of HD and then replace a HD with same size (GB) and put the image on new one depends on how far You are able to go

Thanks guys, I took out the harddrive and I am in the process of getting one. It is about 90G capacity by Hitachi. Now do I need to get the same size or bit higher?

Thanks
