The European consumer is protected from reliability issues due to RoHS. Remember, two year warranties are mandatory in the EU and you only get one chance to repair a defective product in the EU or the law requires it to be scrapped. If the customer dies due to the product's failure then they can't complain. If the customer survives the product's failure then the warranty covers them. Either way they can't complain.
