What is everyone using in terms of reflow profiling. KIC, SolderStar, ECD, or other? | 27 March, 2026

Curious what everyone is using in terms of their reflow profiler. I've used KIC and ECD and liked KIC way better due to the predictive features that helped you optimize your profile.

Was recently at APEX and saw SolderStar and was pretty impressed with it. From what I've heard KIC kind of dominates the market right now so I was curious what everyone is using.

Was looking for a answer to another problem, but saw this and had to repsond. We are using the KIC SPS smart profiler, pn: PTG-10074. Gotta say really like it. I am new to the industry, but this thing works great. Easy to set up, software works really well(isn't all that fast, but doesn't crash), battery lasts a surprising amount of time and we've had it for about 5 years now. The case is pretty cool too.

All three profilers are good and provide good data and easy to use. If anyone in the UK needs a profiler. I do have one of the three mentioned which I don't use anymore being retired. Bob Willis
