STI Electronics, Inc., a full-service organization providing training services, training materials, analytical/failure analysis, prototyping and small-to-medium volume contract PCB assembly, announces the retirement of Mel Scott. After 17 years of dedicated service to STI Electronics, Mel Scott, Director of Quality, officially retired effective October 31, 2017.

After serving in the Army as an electronics instructor, Scott began working in various positions for the Navy at China Lake. He later went on to the Electronics Manufacturing Productivity Facility (EMPF) in Indianapolis, Indiana before joining STI in 2000.

Scott has held various positions at STI, culminating with his position as Director of Quality. He started at STI working on the Post Production Assessment Team (PPAT) and then moved on to Manufacturing Manager before taking a position in the Quality Department. As Director of Quality, Scott was instrumental in the development and certification of STI’s Quality Management System, up to and including certification to the requirements of AS9100D-2016.

Mel has had an association with the Raby family even before STI was founded,” said David Raby, President/CEO. “Mel actually worked with my father at China Lake, CA. His long relationship with my father, Jim D. Raby, makes this retirement a bittersweet event, but I thank Mel for his service and wish him all the best in his retirement.”

Since 1982, STI Electronics, Inc. (STI) has been the premier full service organization for training, consulting, laboratory analysis, prototyping, and small-to-medium volume contract PCB assembly in the electronics industry. STI also produces a complete line of solder training kits and training support products. For more information, visit www.stielectronicsinc.com.
